MDL stands for Matt, Dan and Loren. They are working on a CD, and recently recorded the ever talented Jaime Lewis on piano. These are some images of that day.

Caitlin and Jared are going to be married this year. They hired me to design their "Save the Date" Magnets and their wedding invitations. I made about 5 different options and this one was their favorite. Their wedding will have an Irish theme, hence the clovers. Stay tuned to see their invitations.

Thanksgiving at Tajone Ranch

Well this blog is a little late but I still wanted to share some pictures. I went to a family Thanksgiving dinner the weekend before Thanksgiving over near Bakersfield. One of my mom's cousins is the care taker of Tajone Ranch. These are some pictures I took around the property.

That's right!!! We are officially open for business.

Christmas Party

We had a Christmas party with some our our friends.

It was at Laurene & Ryan's house.

I helped with the decorating while everyone else brought food.

Here are just a few pictures of the decor.

I love decorating for parties.

This tree was specially decorated by their son Kedrick,

he keeps it in is room. How fun is that.

These folks are one of our very best friends.

We've known the girls since they were born,

they were our flower girls in our wedding.

Its so fun to watch then grow up and see

the kind of adults they will become.

We took some quick photos of them

in front of their Christmas tree for their card.

Meet the Wethingtons

These folks are some of our long time friends.
And they haven't have a family photo taken in who knows how long.
So, naturally, we stepped in to remedy that situation.

The Wethingtons are super cool, super fun and self-proclaimed technology geeks.
They are also, very crazy and creative.
These are a few samples of our photo session with them,
we went to the train station in SLO.

We finished off the afternoon with sandwiches at Gus's, and it was yummy.

Aiyani & Jeffrey Wedding Invitations

Aiyani and Jeffrey are family and so designing their wedding invitations was
so much fun and so easy since I know and love them.

Their wedding colors were lavender and silver (princess colors)
Now they met at PCPA, Aiyani is an actress and Jeff is a sound designer
So, it only felt natural that their invitations have a theatre theme.

This is the finished product, what people got in the mail
the usual stuff: invitation, directions, hotels options & rsvp card
what made it really fun and original was:
#1 - the shape, it's elongated like a ticket would be
#2 - there are tickets inside

(that's right, they gave out tickets to their wedding)
How great is that?!?!?!

Here is the actual invitation
it was mounted on a metallic silver card stock
if you haven't noticed on the left side is a title
to their wedding performance/play
"Somebody's Getting Married"

That was also the title of the song that Aiyani and the Wedding Ensemble
walked down the aisle to, it's from a musical the Muppet's did.

Here is a close up of the actual tickets.
They even had a perforated line so that ushers could tear the tickets.
And if you didn't notice there are seating sections
Orchestra was for family
Mezzanine was for general seating.
The ticket design was modeled after tickets from the PCPA (where they met)

In keeping with the theatre theme of the wedding
the programs were Playbills, this is the cover
modeled after playbills given to guests at a Broadway performance.

Inside the Playbill were pages and pages of
director's notes, productions photos, cast of characters,
stories of how they met, and their engagement
Act I (the ceremony) and Act II (the reception)
and there were even ad pages made up of
business cards from all her vendors.

Needless to say, this was one of the funnest things to design
and I believe it is one of the most original concepts
for a wedding I have ever imagined.
And not just because they are family,
but they are fun and creative people
who really wanted something memorable.
Their entire wedding was so much fun
and it really represented who they were.

I think it would be awesome to get connected with other
brides and grooms and help them dream up unique and creative
invitations and programs that really showcase who they are
and help make their wedding day be unforgettable.

Well another great photo shoot and it's all thanks to my sister.
I really think there is no greater advertising than a supportive family.

Friend's of my sister, hence the shout out.
This family is so cute and down to earth.
It's always a challenge when taking pictures of small children,
you never really know how long they'll cooperate.
But these two were troopers.
These are a few of my favorites images.

This is probably one of the best baby feet shots I have ever taken.

I absolutely love everything about this picture.
He's natural, the leaves all over the grass....everything is awesome.

I really love this one too. It's almost like he's giggling
at how cute his parents are.

What a blessed event!!!

Michelle is like a baby sister to me and it was a total and complete joy
to be able to spend a couple days with her and the family.
We had the pleasure of photographing her wedding.

my beloved nephew, born september 13, 2007

some of his visitors this evening consisted of myself,
his uncle Rik and his grandma and grandpa.
auntie Nani and uncle Sir J are still on route and will be visiting him tomorrow.

Beauty and the Geek

I have known Brenda since she was in high school, before she started dating Andrew. It is always so much fun to see someone grow up and become quite a lady and to watch her grow in love for someone as great as Andrew. These two kids sure know how to throw a party. I never would have suspected this group of people to be so wild and crazy. I was fortunate enough to shoot their wedding with my friend Kathleen.
